Free ad open-source software (FOSS) is computer software that can be classified as both free software and open-source software. That is, anyone is freely licensed to use, copy, study, and change the software in any way, and the source code is openly shared so that people are encouraged to voluntarily improve the design of the software.


Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF)is a private educational trust in India, with campuses all over south India. It was established in 1963 with Swiss co-operation, in order to provide purposeful quality education with good employment opportunities. NTTF has one of the most rigorous Diploma Programs in India with emphasis on practical and hands-on knowledge. NTTF graduates are renowned for their practical skills in the industry. NTTF implements its program of technical training in mechanical engineering, electronics, information technology and computer engineering and mechatronics streams at postgraduate, post diploma, diploma and certificate levels.

NTTF - aneducational foundation established in the year 1963 - is the living symbol of Indo-Swiss co-operation; aimed at promoting purposeful Technical Education for the youth of India. The seed was put in place at Thalassery (Kerala), in the year 1959. In its mission, the Foundation was actively supported with generous assistance from the Government of Switzerland, HEKS (a Swiss NGO), and Swiss Development Co-operation (a development agency in Switzerland). The Government of India and the State Governments also extended their support. The Foundation implements its program of Technical Training through more than 20 Training Centres located in various States across India. NTTF assists industries, through its special collaborative initiative for producing quality manpower, by establishing training centres in partnership with industry associations. NTTF is an ISO 9001 Certified institution.

All NTTF programs and related curriculum are updated and revamped under a team of eminent personalities representing academia and industry. Currently the Academic Council is headed by Mr. M. S. S. Varadan.

NTT offers various programs at the Postgraduate Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, Post Diploma, Diploma and Certificate levels, apart from various non-formal/vocational programs. All programs offered by NTTF are employment-oriented and industry-focused. A Faculty Development Centre is coming up at the NTTF facility in Dharwad (Karnataka).


We provide the next genertion e-learning, the digital library. Students have access to thousands of digital files, like e-books, e-journals, lecture videos, etc. Our servers are huge enough to update the database with the new files regularly, and they are provided with high speed internet connection to help the students retrieve the files quickly.

The library has over the yars built a robust collection of over 8496 books, 605 (CDs) The Library subscribed 12 journals in Engineering Department. We also subscribed total 3 National and Regional newspapers.

The library, spread over 5000 sq. ft., also provides access to the best of Engineering related digital resources through its subscription to various databases consisting of scholarly and industry relevant content.


Library is well equipped wih precious books, Textbooks, Reference books, Periodicals and Journals. It is supported by a large well-ventilated two floored reading-room. The library is enriched with digital facilities and computer system. Free access of this is made available to the students, faculty, staff and visitors. The library frequently displays and exhibits various books, newly arrived books and best library books.

Reference Services

The Library maintains a separate reference collection consist of encyclopedias, Dictionary, directories, handbooks, technical data, almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, CD-ROMs, Audio and Video cassettes etc. these books can be used in the library against identity Card. Only one book can be issued to a students again ID Card.

Our digital library is a library in which collections are stored in digital format and accessible by computers. The digital content may be stored locally, or accessed remotely via computer networks. Library members can also search scholarly articles on DELNET consortia.

They seve as the perfect focal point for numerous academic events with central air conditioning, efficient acoustics, modern sound equipment, video-projection facility, hi-tech soft and cool lighting. It also serves as a suitable venue for peer and industry interaction through talk shows, webinars, conferences etc.


IIST has taken a step forward towards the establishment of an NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL)) local Chapter. The objective of this Chapter is to enable the students gain knowledge through enhanced video lecture and obtain certificates for courses pursued. It also makes them employable in the industry or pursue a suitable higher education programme.

The Student will access online lecture notes for this Website. These lectures are conducted by IIT professors.
